\u00a0\u00a0I have a minor obsession with flowers! <\/strong><\/h3>\nIt started with beadwork back when I was a child and I’ve been doing beadwork for almost\u00a0all my life.\u00a0Since joining the SCA in 1994\u00a0I have also been doing research into the historical aspects of beadwork prior to 1600.<\/strong><\/h4>\nFor the most part, my research has centered on European beadwork dating from 1000 to 1600ce with a particular\u00a0focus on documenting beaded flowers. One of the projects I made led me to research other 3-dimential flowers and that research has become the silk flower project. <\/strong><\/p>\nI have written several papers to document specific items I have made for A&S competitions in the Society for Creative Anachronism. I\u00a0was the Middle Kingdom A&S Champion for one year and won the Principality of Northshield regional pentathlon twice. I recently (2015) won the Queen’s Prize for my Besloten Hofje shrine and research. <\/strong><\/p>\nI\u00a0originally put my research on-line in the hopes that others would not have to reinvent the wheel.
