My latest batch of library books is starting to come due and I realized I was woefully behind. I entered and scanned the parts I needed for the two due tomorrow and will complete the other two this weekend. The one I just finished had a good deal of information on the silk trade in Medieval Paris and I found it to be fascinating reading.
I contacted a parchment manufacturer last week and received a reply today. They have agreed to label the scraps so I know what they are so I can best figure out what works and what doesn’t. I’m extremely happy about this because it means I don’t have to try to figure it out based on the sample chart. I should be able to get a lot of flowers out of a pound of scraps.
I made daffodils. As far as I can see there are only daffodils in the shrine at Walsrode. And I finished a rose in white and a rose in pink – both of them in the fashion of the Arras shrine.
Tomorrow I start work on another style of rose.
